Mr. Bertini graduated from Vanderbilt University and received his law degree from the University of Houston. He is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has a certificate to mediate. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas. Mr. Bertini suffered the complete destruction of both his house and his office in Hurricane Ike that struck the Gulf Coast in 2008. Through this experience, he is able to empathize with his clients who are struggling with similar life-altering devastation.

Ms. Simmons has been with the firm for more than four years and in the legal field for more than 20 years with a background in civil litigation. Ms. Simmons came to our firm after working for the Honorable Susan Criss, district judge of the 212th Court of Galveston County, where she managed the criminal felony docket as well as the civil docket. Ms. Simmons has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, has a certificate to mediate, and is pursuing her master's degree at the University of Houston. She handles the discovery for the firm and prides herself on her ability to lead clients through difficult and potentially intimidating processes with comfort and relative ease. Ms. Simmons also owns and manages a small interior design business.

Ms. Arreazola has been with the firm since 2002. She assists Mr. Bertini and other staff members with all aspects of civil litigation and continually expands her experience with a variety of legal training. Ms. Arreazola is a native of Galveston. She is very attentive, has an exceptionally sharp memory, and is comfortable dealing with crises, exemplified by her calm and cool demeanor in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. Ms. Arreazola is also a part-time beauty consultant and representative.

Hunter Cherryhomes joined our firm in 2010 as a part-time administrative assistant and is responsible for our paperless document management system and all incoming mail. Hunter is new to the legal field but is working toward becoming a full-time member of our staff as a legal assistant. Hunter lives in Galveston and is the proud father of a three-year old daughter. Hunter will be beginning his general studies at Galveston Community College in the fall of 2011.
